Mindful Family & veroniqueryan.com
'Being mindful' for me is about learning integrity and acceptance, being true to myself, embracing all I am, lovely traits and flaws alike. while developing my awareness of the 'here and now', letting each moment be the precious gift it is intended to be. As I master the courage to discover what is right through deep looking, allowing wisdom and knowledge to arise in complete simplicity and evolve into just action. I cultivate joy, happiness and compassion, with the intention of sharing it, starting by being kind to myself and extending loving kindness to others.
... and if you'd like to know more about me ...
I hold a deep interest in holistic healing, all things medical and the implementation of a common sense approach to the daily practice of family health and well-being. I first studied the art of medicine, moved to and around the US and concentrated on raising four children with my husband Mike. For twelve years the family has been mostly based in London, and as the children grew older and left to fulfil their own dreams, I returned to my original love for healing in all its forms. Currently I split my time between London and Luanda, Angola and welcome all opportunities to share my passion in both places.
My inspiration comes from many sources in no particular order: an attentive Inner Work exploration, a committed meditation and mindfulness practice, the regular study of advaita philosophy, Sanskrit, Kabbalah and imagery, various sound healing and chanting practices, ancestry healing, general health, herbal and feminine wisdom. Not to omit the rich tapestry of life experiences and everyday teachers: my children, family, friends, students.
By teaching others you will learn yourself.
George Ivanovich Gurdjieff
The first thing you discover is
a kind of emptiness,
a presence which doesn't seem to have content to it,
like looking up
at a limitless sky.
That boundary-less place
is your own consciousness,
When you relax into it,
you realize that it's also full -
it is everything.
You realize this presence is
what you really are: Love.
